That’s one big weekend…

When going for your casual walk on the beach, you’d expect to come across the usual stuff; seashells, blue bottles and maybe even a pearl or two. But, the beaches in Florida are obviously built different, with a beachgoer finding $2 million AUD worth of cocaine just sunbathing where everyone could see.

The news was announced by Chief Patrol Agent Thomas G. Martin, who tweets the findings (just a normal Tuesday on Twitter), confirming the find while recording its weight as 65 lbs. (around 30 kg).

“Palm Beach, FL; Over the weekend, a beachgoer discovered over 1.5 million dollars worth of cocaine washed-up along the shoreline,” he tweeted. “The package contained 65 lbs. of cocaine & was turned over to U.S. #BorderPatrol custody.”

The find comes just as US border patrol found over 5,500 lbs. (2495 kg) of cocaine in a concealed, semi-submersible that was on its way to Pueto Rico. Apparently it’s cocaine-bust season right now, and obviously beaches around the world must be quaking in fear. Check out the submersible post getting caught below.
