As many of us stare down the high possibility of extended lockdowns, the end-of-day hankering for a boozy reward has never been higher. While the go-to choice might be a months-old beer leftover in your garage fridge, the folks at Minimum Wine are sprucing up the options with their latest wine batch, ‘Of Another World.’
The freshest member of Short Runs family, Minimum’s new elixir is the drink of choice for at-home sommelier’s. A light/medium red wine with subtle fruits, a dusting of spices and lasting warmth, ‘Of Another World,’ adds some much-needed class to the lockdown drinks menu. For those not fluent in wine-talk, Minimum’s descriptors like ‘bi-lingual,’ ‘versatile’ and ‘down to earth’ can be roughly translated to ‘goddamn delicious.’
Like the yarns we often spin after one too many, the story behind ‘Of Another World’ is intoxicating. The juicy syrah was maturated for 13 months before being bottled unfiltered and unfined, and Minimum collaborated with Melbourne artist Minna Leunig for the label design. Their joint efforts all culminate in an otherworldly pour that’ll have you chef’s kissing like a true connoisseur.
