If there’s any delicacy worthy of a state-wide festival, it’s the mighty chicken nugget…

The city of Melbourne is set to host a festival in honour of the mighty chicken nugget. Taking place next month (June 11), the Chicken Nugget Festival will assemble a food truck park in Thornbury, with vendors offering various assortments of the battered delicacy, from nugget burgers and hoagies to the unavoidable food art that is the nugget on a stick.

Billed as “a huge day of eating and celebrating nuggets,” the festival will bring together some of Melbourne’s most famous chicken-based eateries including Roadrunner Fried Chicken, Miss Katie’s Chicken Shack, Gorilla Grill and Mr Burger. The cherry on top of the nugget cake is the festival’s dessert menu (not a McFlurry dipping sauce), with Dip’d Gourmet Mini Donuts offering something sweet after a days-long binge.
