If you’ve ever woken up after a night on the beers questioning your will to live (let’s face it, we all have), you’re in luck, as a hangover pill in the UK is making the rounds for its ability to help drinkers “wake up feeling refreshed”.
Going by the name ‘Myrkl’, the pill has reportedly been in development for more than three decades and is being touted as the “first product in history to break down alcohol effectively.” It seems like a seemingly impossible task for a wee pill, but it’s reportedly packed with a bunch of bacteria and amino acids that stop grog dead in its tracks before it reaches the liver, with a healthy splash of vitamin B12 to help remove any possibility for a headache the next morning.
All you have to do is pop two at least an hour before the fun begins, and you’re on your way. So far early results indicate that taking the tablets reduce alcohol concentration within a person’s blood within half an hour of having a drink, going so far as to 70% after a full hour.
But sadly, it seems anyone who makes a sport out of getting on the piss probably won’t reap the full benefits from Myrkl, as it’s said to “make getting drunk much more expensive and will take significantly longer”. Still, if it means you can wake up not on the verge of death on Sunday morning, it sounds like it’s well worth it. Check out its official launch below, and keep an eye out for these bad boys come silly season.
