“Kim Kardashian has posted her fully exposed ass to her 330 million followers without any restrictive action from Instagram…”

Pornhub has been officially banned from Instagram after ‘repeatedly’ violating terms and conditions. Their account was initially disabled three weeks ago, however, what was thought to be a temporary ban has now turned out to be more lasting.

In a statement, Meta described that they had “permanently disabled [Pornhub’s] Instagram account for repeatedly violating our policies” pointing to Pornhub’s sharing of adult content, nudity and sexual solicitation, which has supposedly been going on for years. Well, duh.

In response, the porn giant has penned an open letter to the social media giant, endorsed by 63 industry figures including pornographers, performers, entertainers, sex worker unions and activism organisations.

“Dear Mark Zuckerberg, Adam Mosseri, Nick Clegg, Jennifer Newstead,” the letter begins, going on to claim that those in the adult industry have been undermined for years by “Instagram’s opaque, discriminatory and hypocritical” terms, and unfairly targeted by “bans, shadow bans, suspensions, loss of Live privileges and content removal”.

The letter then takes a somewhat unlikely turn, zeroing in on Kim Kardashian and pointing out that during the time Pornhub’s account had been disabled, “Kim Kardashian has posted her fully exposed ass to her 330 million followers without any restrictive action from Instagram.”

“We are happy to see that Kim and the artistic team behind the image are free to share their work on the platform, but question why we are denied the same treatment,” the letter continues.

“While Kim’s photo continues accumulating likes and making headlines, members of the adult community run the risk of deplatforming if Instagram decides our pants look a bit too tight to meet its arbitrary and selectively-enforced ‘standards.’”

The letter ends by demanding that Instagram “end all discrimination” towards those in the adult industry, by providing more transparency around bans and reinstating all wrongly terminated accounts, including Pornhub. Meta is yet to respond.
