Yesterday, the commencement of AFW ’25 was an emotional overload with the first show marking the 60th anniversary of label Carla Zampatti.
“Opening AFW is an honour that we don’t take for granted,” said Alexander Schuman, Carla Zampatti chief executive, and son of the designer who died following a fall in April 2021. “Mum was always altruistic towards the industry.”
On the runway, the new chapter for the legendary label unfolded with precision: sharp blazers, elegant separates, and the kind of confident tailoring that built the house’s legacy.
With Sydney Harbour as a backdrop, it marked a celebration of years gone by in Australian fashion, while also offering a look into the future.
We were there, alongside Shark Beauty, to capture all the highlights from behind and in front of the curtain. Check it out in the gallery above and stay tuned for a whole lot more from AFW ’25.
