Party & Bullshit

Sessions Surf Festival wrapped with a massive day at Burleigh Heads.

What a week it’s been up on the Gold Coast. Over the past seven days, Sessions Surf Festival has given us live music from Dope Lemon, The Babe Rainbow and more at their Music Session, numerous surf films and documentaries, and some amazing art shows. It’s been a big, but extremely fun, one for the LWA team, who have been running around shooting and partying with the crew. You can see all the event galleries (check them out here).

In true SSF style, they saved the best till last with their Burleigh Heads beach day yesterday. In the water, we watched Kelly, Parko, Dylan Graves and Nathan Hedges battle it out for their respective countries, while the Gromathon spotlighted local up-and-comers. The Countdown Cup also gave us plenty of great surfing to geeze at.

Outside of the water, the place felt like a music festival, with drinks from Solento, White Claw, Balter and Posca flowing, and heaps of good food coming from local crews on site. That music festival feeling went to level 11 when Hockey Dad took to the stage, with the duo blasting through a massive set on the Maxum Watches Stage, supported by Finojet. Safe to say it was a big one for frothers young and old.
