Having caught our attention a month or so ago with its international release, Vans’ Premium Old Skool 36 ‘Paint Splatter’ has landed in Aus in two colourways.

It feels like the Old Skool (and the Premium Old Skool) is having a bit of a moment within a brand that is undeniably having a massive moment. The Pearlised series, Metagirl collab, and Travis Barker link up all have us circling back to Vans’ iconic silhouette and seeing its versatility and potential – and now, we have the Premium Old Skool 36 ‘Paint Splatter’, perhaps the strongest reimagining of the shoe to date.

Coming in two colourways, the release pairs a muted ‘Turtledove’ upper with an olive Sidestripe, while the darker option combines charcoal grey with off-white accents. Both feature paint splatters across the canvas upper (yes, they’re using the canvas as a canvas), foxing and Jazz Stripe, creating a finish that looks like they’ve just stepped out of an artist’s studio rather than a skatepark.
