Around the world with Sticky Fingers.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to go on tour with Sticky Fingers?

We think about it all the time – we could only assume that it involves plenty of alcohol, singa-a-longs and outrageous outfits, especially after Sticky’s last album Land of Pleasure catapulted them into global attention. Now, Sydney-based creative Sam Brumby has given us a peek into the touring life of the Inner-West heroes in this week’s edition of Frames.

Sam is a local shooter, filmmaker and sound engineer doing big things within the music scene – when he’s not on the road with Sticky Fingers, he’s working with everyone from Toyota to Patagonia and the in-house photographer for our favourite live music venue, Oxford Art Factory. The man’s been to his fair share of gigs, and below he’s collected some of his most treasured shots which also include Isabella Manfredi and our pal Dave Le’aupepe looking very dashing in a Slayer shirt.

See some of Sam’s awesome Sticky Fingers stories and photographs below, and catch him shooting a gig near you in the near future. For more music action, chuck him a follow over on Instagram. PS If you head over to The Lord Gladstone in Chippendale, you can see Sticky Fingers’ own stained glass window – legendary status achieved:

000005

A 120mm press shot of Tom Snowdon from #1 Dads & Lowlakes down in Melbourne. Tom & I were buddies in grade 3 in Alice Springs and then fell out of contact until we re-linked via music somehow around the age of 25. Now we’re best buds again.

Fire1-1

This was from Sticky Fingers first tour of the US. We were driving ourselves round the country side in a bus that was way too big for our driving skills, or our licenses for that matter. Somehow we ended up in a proper trailer trash motor park in Colorado. We definitely became a product of our surroundings that night.

SF Cairns April 2016 Day 1-200

Master Patrick Cornwall of Sticky Fingers backstage in Cairns earlier this year.

Palace 2-1

We took a break from a 32 hour drive to grab a press shot at an abandoned theme park somewhere in the Dirty South last year.

Gang Of Youths @ OAF 2-6-15-57

Gang of Youths putting on a stellar show at Oxford Arts in 2015. If you have a chance, watch this band.

SF Euro Tour 2015 Day 5-132

Sticky Fingers backstage at a warehouse show somewhere in Britain last last year.

Vic Mensa @ OAF 4-2-15-51

On the verge of stardom and before the Kanye collab. Vic Mensa at The Oxford Art Factory in Sydney.

SF US 16 Day 12-66

Fireworks are legal in Georgia, USA and Dylan Frost from Sticky Fingers loves any sort of mayhem.

Bad Dreems @ OAF 9-10-15-50

Bad Dreems with Izzi Manfredi of The Preatures performing The Weeknd track ‘I Cant Feel My Face’. One of the best shows of my life.

Surf 1-1

I have countless shots from around the globe of Dylan crowd surfing. But this one from San Fran in 2015 resonates with me due to the weird shape of the room and how far he got carried throughout the venue. Plus I’m super surprised I captured it, I’d eaten a hash brownie and could barely stand up.

SF BB April 16' Day 2-2

Backstage at The Great Northern in Byron Bay.

SF US DAY 16-11

Killing time in New Mexico. 2015.
