The Salty Pirate Crew’s whitelist sale exploded over the weekend.

It seems that members of the Salty Pirate Crew community couldn’t wait to snaffle up a few of their PFP NFTs, with over 1.8K minted within the first 48 hours by whitelist members (FYI a whitelist is kind of like a pre-sale registration). If you’ve read our interview with the team behind the project, you’ll know why we in the LWA office have all jumped on board too, with the roadmap and DAO structure opening up endless pirate-y possibilities for holders.

And now, with public sale going live today at 1pm (mint here) there’s gonna be a very limited opportunity for keen non-whitelisters to get in on the action amount of pirates left over from the initial 3K offering shrinks by the minute. If you fall into that “keen” category (and you really should), head to their discord or Twitter for live updates.

It’s also been revealed that a bunch of Aussie legends have taken advantage of the low gas fees and minted. On the music front there’s producer What So Not, Stu from Set Mo, dance commander Lucille Croft and Silverchair’s Ben Gillies, with former Kangaroo Chris Lawrence and Kiwi rugby rig Ben Seymour among the athletes who’ve signed up. We’ve also heard on good word that the entire FIZZ crew are involved as well as celebrity chef Hayden Quinn – mouth-watering!

There’ll be a party after the mint in the SPC pirateverse, with the team promising live DJ performances, interactive poker, as well as the chance to win 0.2ETH and an NFT for anyone already holding a pirate. LFG!
