Frames: Dana Pacifico
Capturing some big names!

Dana Pacifico has found herself in the pit next to some of the world’s most popular musicians.

As a child, living in Long Island, Dana Pacifico would take disposable cameras to shoot NSYNC and Backstreet Boys concerts which clearly stoked the fire for what would become a career in music photography. These days the Brooklyn-based snapper works shooting some of the biggest names in the music industry, with a portfolio that includes incredible shots of acts like Travis Scott, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine, and many more.

Capturing a wide range of high profile artists has had some hairy moments though. “Being in the photo pit for Travis Scott during Governors Ball 2018 and kids getting ripped out of the crowd between us by security,” she mentions when asked to reflect on her worst experience. “Kids white as a ghost and lifeless from dehydration/drugs. But I did end up getting one of my favorite photos out of it.”

Though clearly the lows are outweighed by the many highs, including a humbling moment with Gorillaz. “October 8th, 2010 I saw Gorillaz play MSG and that show is the reason why I considered music photography as my main goal. Luckily, I can say I’ve been properly credentialed through Gorillaz to photograph them so that was a great full circle moment.”
