As they watched their heroes hilariously inflict pain on themselves, Jason and his mates felt a need to document their own skating and stunts. It wasn’t long before he picked up a video camera, which eventually led to his first SLR and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at the University of Tasmania.
In 2012, Jason relocated to Melbourne, pursuing a career in news and wedding photography. While skate photography always remained his hobby, there was eventually enough cash coming in for him to pursue it full time. Now, Jason’s photographs appear in The Skateboarder’s Journal, Slam Magazine and other websites around the web, while he’s also the in-house photographer at Nike SB.
