Toronto is home to stars like Drake, The Weeknd and now Isy himself, who moved there five years ago from his native Mauritius. He first picked up a DSLR in Year 11, and fell in love with the art with the encouragement of his photography teacher. Connecting with other like-minded shooters across the globe via Instagram, he’s become an online sensation of sorts, and it’s not hard to see why.
Speaking on how photography has changed his life, he said:
“I was shy and wasn’t really good at expressing myself with words to people, and when I discovered that i could do that with my photographs, I started posting more and more on Instagram. I started receiving really good comments and feedback from people online. As you know in the world of photography, no one is actually perfect. I keep learning new things everyday, and I know that I need to improve and step up my game everyday in order to keep up with all the talented photographers around the world.”
