A lesser known angle from the commonly shot Mitre Peak in Milford Sound, NZ. We had 4/12 days to shoot blue skies with a climate that rains 250 days of the year. Some luck.
Another image from one of my times in the glider while soaring above lake Pukaki. I’m in love with the shadows casted by the nearby mountain range.
I’m lucky that one of my best friends Steve Wall is also funemployed. Last minute strike mission into the deep south, NSW.
I’ve got some amazing friends in NZ. When he’s not breaking his jaw skiing (3 times and counting) Fraser Mcdougall flies gliders – engine-less planes that rely on wind to keep you off the ground. This day we made it to 18500 feet, soaring above Mt Cook.
My first backcountry mission was in August last year. Moving around the mountains is tough, but also allows you to time the perfect light.
My first job of the year was shooting stills for a tourism commercial with Kelly Mcgarry riding down an active volcano in NZ. Weeks before the video went live, Kelly unexpectedly passed away. Ride in peace, mate.
One of the lesser known places in NSW. While hiking back in the dark I also managed to blow my knee. Time for redemption!
PolarbearSabertooth. Around NYE hundreds float out to Ruby Island (pictured) in Lake Wanaka for a massive day party. The float back is even more interesting.
Recently my knee has kept me from swimming so Ive been ‘that guy’ shooting with a long lens from the shore. It definitely can be frustrating as you’re so removed from whats happening in real time.
Straight after I blew my knee I had a gig booked in the Cook Islands. A week of hopping, limping and a poor attempt at floating.
