Born in Kauai, Hawaii, Max moved to Bali at the tender age of 1 and lived there for his entire childhood and teenage years. “I spent 17 years surfing, shooting and exploring the island. I became attached to it, and I found that as I grew, so did the island,” he says. Max then took the short flight over to Australia, where he’s currently living, working, and taking in the delights of Sydney City.
For this week’s edition of Frames, Max presents us with a his favourite images taken right here and back home. It’s a humanising collection which shows his great potential with the camera, and it’s no surprise that his dream is to have one of his shots appearing in National Geographic. At the rate he’s moving, we’re inclined to say that he’ll get there.
