Party & Bullshit
November 14, 2016

Proudly hailing from the small town of Menangle, The Rubens have never played a local show until now – and the lads received a enormous hometown heroes welcome when they took over The Gregory Hills Hotel.

It was a surreal feeling as The Rubens climbed onstage at their local pub – not as punters, but as one of the region’s most successful bands to date. As expected, many of The Rubens’ friends and family were all present, making it a warm welcome home for the group – who have spent an increasing amount of time on the road since their Hottest 100 victory.

The three Margin brothers of the band have made it known that their parents were often the sole attendees of their early, empty shows – and today, Mum was present once again. A chant started form in the crowd yelling “Mum, Mum, Mum” – and the band stopped to see Sam, Zac and Elliot’s biggest fan dancing in singing in the middle of the crowd.
