The PS5 has been heralded as literal magic ever since its announcement, gamers across the world losing their absolute shit at the release of the new console. As a result, demand has soared, pre-orders have been exhausted, and hopes have been raised to the fullest. Naturally, fans who had ordered the console online were on the edge of their seatS while waiting for it to arrive. However, it seems the gaming (and postal service) gods had a different plan in mind, with numerous customers opening their packages to find some random AF shit.
Ranging from pet food to air fryers and grills, customers were left well and truly in the lurch by the stuff up. And it’s looking like there’s no quick fix, with the PS5 currently out of stock on the Amazon site.
Speaking on the monumental fuck up, Amazon said “We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders. We’re really sorry about that and are investigating exactly what’s happened. We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right.
“Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.”
Pretty rough for both Amazon and its customers, check out some of the horror stories below.
Thanks @AmazonUK for sending me this instead of the ps5 I ordered. And then telling me sorry, we can't send you the item you actually ordered because we ran out. So you're gonna have to wait over 10 days for a refund. Absolute shambles pic.twitter.com/2slEFxKxlc

Happy #PS5 day everyone. Tried to document our one’s unveiling, but Amazon have tricked us with an unsolicited air fryer instead (after giving delivery password). Anyone else had this problem today? pic.twitter.com/99IUSzSJUU

The exact same thing happened to me, I got a George Foreman grill!
Looked like the box had been opened at some point aswell.
Now I can't get a replacement because there is no stock anywhere in the UK even though I pre-ordered it 2 months in advance! pic.twitter.com/Cmg3BzVhvg— Sam Felts (@Sam_Felts) November 20, 2020
