Known for elevating consumer products to a higher form of luxury, design house Caviar have focused their design talents on a piece a bit more ambitious than their normal projects, and have made the world’s most expensive Tesla Model S.
Called the “Model Excellence 24K,” the custom piece came to be by using the Model S Plaid+ as the foundation, then double electroplating it with 99.9% gold. From the grille to the skirts, rear-view mirror, bumpers and wheels, gold can be found literally everywhere on the sleek whip.
The website description for the car is pretty in line with the design as well, reading “Imagine yourself driving this car: a respectable high-quality oil-colored body and a dazzling glow of gold. You are not just driving the car of the future. This is a new word in luxury car modding.
“If you think that they will turn after you and look with an admiring glance, you are not mistaken. That is exactly what the Caviar Model Excellence 24K is made for.”
Caviar have so far only made 99 units of the “Model Excellence 24K,” with each being priced at $300,000 USD ($380,000 AUD), which is an additional $135,000 USD ($174,000 AUD) over the original Tesla Model S price tag. Check out a reveal for the new whip below.
