The people have spoken: The holy avocado is finally making its way to phones in emoji form.

The next time you Instagram your Bondi brunch, you’ll be able to express your love of avocado much more succinctly with the avocado – just one of 72 new additions arriving with Unicode 9.0. As reported by Pedestrian.TV, the Unicode Consortium has approved the following emojis, which include a black love heart for those who didn’t get past the emo phase, a Pinocchio-esque long-nosed face for your mate who’s a fucking liar, and a shaka for when you wanna catch some ~gnarly waves~ with your mates.

Apparently, the process for emoji inclusion is a serious one – it includes thousand-word proposals and various committee meetings with the Unicode Consortium which we would very much like to sit in on.

Other notable additions include a salad, an egg and some Asian cooking-themed emojis that will come in handy when I’m texting my grandmother in Hong Kong.
