Wonder what kind of prep the SNL star will do for this role…

SNL star Pete Davidson appears to live in the headlines these days, the full-time funnyman drawing large attention for his relationship with Kim Kardashian while appearing in a slate of box office hits. The most notable of which, 2020’s The King of Staten Island, drew on his real life for inspiration, using his town of residence as well as his firefighter father’s death as key plot points in the two hour epic. Now, it appears Davidson’s life will again be subject to a writer’s room, with the 28-year-old set to star in an autobiographical TV series.

Titled Bupkis, the new comedy series will be comprised of half-hour episodes set to showcase a “heightened, fictionalized version of Pete Davidson’s real life,” while combining “grounded storytelling with absurd elements from the unfiltered and completely original worldview for which Pete is well known.” The series will also see Davidson reunite with King of Staten Island co-writers in Dave Sirus and Judah Miller, both of whom will again collaborate with Davidson on the script.

Releasing a statement on the new series, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming wrote online “Pete Davidson is one of the most sought-after comedians today with his smart, one-of-a-kind humor and honest point of view. Bupkis will showcase Pete’s funny, surprising and unfiltered brand of comedy audiences have come to love as we continue to bolster our Peacock comedy slate.”

Looks like Davidson continues to get parts written for him (literally). Our only question is now whether Kim Kardashian herself will make an appearance, and whether Bupkis’ version of Davidson will don all of the shitty tattoos he’s gotten over the past few years. Check out some of his funniest moments on SNL below keep an eye out for more updates on the upcoming series.
