Since 2019, Angus Cloud has appeared in HBO’s Euphoria as the thoroughly rough but loveable drug dealer Fezco, who in many ways embodies the heart and soul of the entire show. Fans have long speculated about the origins of the massive scar on Cloud’s head – one of the actor’s most iconic features (which also happens to perfectly fit the character of Fezco).
Now, Cloud has finally divulged the unexpected tale. Opening up in a recent interview, the actor explained how it came about after falling into a construction pit while on the beers, recounting, “I woke up 12 hours later at the bottom. I was trapped. I eventually climbed out after — I don’t know how long. It was hella hard to climb out, because my skull was broken, but my skin wasn’t, so all the bleeding was internal, pressing up against my brain.
“But they wasn’t gonna find me down there. I found myself. Or God found me, whatever you want to call it.”
Luckily, it seems divine intervention wasn’t the only force at hand that day, with doctors immediately operating on the then 15-year-old after he hopped on a bus home, resulting in him walking away from the debacle with minor brain damage and the now-signature feature.
No doubt a cautionary tale for the California native. Luckily, it hasn’t stopped him from garnering critical acclaim on Euphoria since. Check out some of his most iconic scenes from the show below, along with some close ups of the scar above.
