The film will follow the comedian-turned-horror connoisseur’s 2019 film, Us.

Marking writer-director’s third entry into the horror genre, Jordan Peele has dropped the menacing new trailer for his upcoming film, Nope. The clip, which sees co-stars Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya operate a desolate horse stable, doesn’t reveal too much about the film’s premise, but features enough eeriness to match what looks to be the most anticipated film of the year.

In it, longtime Peele collaborator Kaluuya is seen filming an advert alongside Palmer to promote their Hollywood animal training business, before the lights and music dim across their family ranch. While the source of the silence is only alluded to, it’s fair to assume that some supernatural force is afoot, as horses begin misbehaving and shadowing dust storms surge before Palmer is swept into a tornado.

If Peele’s previous directorial efforts, which include the Oscar-winning Get Out and 2019’s Us, are anything to go by, then NOPE will be a horror film for the history books. It’s set to hit screens  July 22, but in the meantime, peep the full trailer above.
