Starting our mornings with some Kings Cross nostalgia we’ve been deprived of for way too fucking long, iconic club Candy’s Apartment just teased an upcoming party on their social media channels, and we can already feel the memories we barely remember flooding back.
If you somehow need your memory jogged or turned 18 rather recently (we feel for you), let us catch you up. The Kings Cross abode is a venue every Sydney partygoer has attended at one point or another. Located a simple two minute walk from Kings Cross station and literally 30 seconds from that amazing kebab shop (IMPORTANT detail), the club has been host to some of the rowdiest nights in clubbing memory, the low ceilings and tight dance floor witnessing everything from techno to house and everything in between.
It was also a launchpad for some of the biggest EDM acts in and out of the country today, with artists like Hayden James, Alison Wonderland, What So Not, Golden Features and countless more legends playing in the hallowed apartment at the beginning of their meteoric careers. If you were a regular attendee of the Cross in the late 2000s, you’d be used to seeing all of them playing Candy’s and World Bar (Rest In Peace) throughout the week, the two clubs helping them to cultivate the skills they’ve taken all across the world since.
(We actually shot a reunion with all of those artists at Candy’s in 2017. Check it out here).
Thus, you can imagine our excitement at the thought of another Candy’s party. Check out the not-so cryptic post below and take a trip down memory lane with some video footage of that crazy 2017 reunion as well. We’ll see you there!
