With over two decades in the game, it’s admirable that local hip-hop veterans Hilltop Hoods can still pack out a venue as ginormous as Sydney’s Allphones Arena.

The influence of Hilltop Hoods is undeniable – they’ve long been Australia’s favourite storytellers and omnipresent on radio waves, while at least one person you know had ‘Nosebleed Section’ as their Nokia ringtone back in your teenage years. They’ve also inspired countless other artists – evident by their rampaging performance of ‘Cosby Sweater’ at Triple J’s Beat The Drum concert, which featured everybody from Elefant Traks legends Horrorshow to skyrocketing star Tkay Maidza.

When we heard that Hilltop Hoods would be playing a gig with the eyebrow-raising addition of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, we had to send someone along – and given the success of his first comic strip review of Action Bronson, we called up our favourite artist Chris Yee.

Chris only really listens to rap music from Atlanta and Houston, so this was a new and eye-opening experience for him – see his animated verdict on Hilltop’s show below!
