The first clip to be released from their forthcoming album Mount Ninji And Da Nice Time Kid, the video starts off normally enough with Yolandi making her parents two cups of tea. Sweet, right? By now, you’ll know that Die Antwoord are experts at tip-toeing the line between innocence and more brazen behavious, and you’ll soon see that she’s actually drugging her parents with sleeping tablets to go on an all-nighter with her partner-in-crime.
What follows is a little bit of joyriding, a neon rave, guns, lasters, prosthetic legs and perhaps a nod to their fellow South African, the notorious Oscar Pistorius. As with most of Die Antwoord’s work, it’s a lot to swallow, but it’s easy to get sucked into their demonic world of pulsating dance beats and weirdo rap.
