Although festivals may be on the back burner for the time being, the Canberra duo are bringing plenty of hype with their new single…

Titled ‘Honest’, the latest heater from the Duk boys sees them return to the heightened festival heater they burst onto the scene with in the early 2010s. Produced alongside fellow Aussie dance royalty KLP, the track makes use of floor to the floor rhythms and pulsating synths, the pair racing against one another in blaze of dance and energy.

It’s a sonic artwork that sets the stage perfectly for US Hyperpop singer Slayyyter, who hits hard and fast on the track with high-octane vocals that collide against the various textures. It all culminates in that last build up, the various layers maximising with anticipation and rigour right before that explosive hook that brings it all together in a fiery eruption of glory

Speaking on the meaning behind the new single, the Duk boys explain: We wrote the lyrics alongside the theme that the music created – A sweaty journey through thunder, mountaintops, marching to the drums and chanting as we follow each other. Slayyyter was down to jump on board and add her vocals to the mix and we couldn’t be more stoked with the magic that we now get to share with the world. Play it loud and scream it proud.”

Couldn’t agree more with that last part. Peking Duk’s new single ‘Honest’ ft. Slayyyter is out now. You can buy/stream it here.
