No doubt this year’s Easter celebrations are gonna be one to remember this year, with restrictions easing around most of the country as people gear up to make the most of the special day. So much so that Aldi Australia are getting in on the action, putting their best foot forward to help you get a little extra loose this year, releasing a new range of alcoholic hot cross buns.
And they’ve chosen a pretty killer alcoholic beverage for inspiration, infusing those tender buns with none other than gin, confirming that the new release are “Easter treats for the grown-ups!”
They’ve also given the deets on what other ingredients make up the adult treat, stating that “This Hot Cross Bun Flavoured Gin Liqueur is a sensational spicy gin, infused with nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and gingers flavours blended together for a rich fruity taste of hot cross buns in a glass.”
And in classic Aldi fashion, you’ll be able to cop the bottle of gin being used in the making of the buns, going on sale at a ridiculously cheap $19.99 next week. So, if you’re feeling at all adventurous or have been watching Masterchef re-runs, you’ll be able to bake your own buns from scratch (although you’ll probably end up just drinking the whole bottle of gin before you’re done).
“We are proud of the quality and affordable products we bring customers, but also the innovative and unique range we can offer Australians – and the Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur is no exception!”
“Crafted with the traditional spices found in your favourite Easter treat, simply mix with soda, sparkling wine or serve on the rocks.”
Pretty mad. The new buns are set to drop in store on February 24th. Head to the Aldi website to find out more. For now, check out the new drop below.
