We all know that very specific, singular craving when all you need is the sweet taste of a doughnut to grace your tastebuds. It’s fair enough, doughnuts are pretty sick, but you’d never expect to be served up a side of blood when giving into temptation. A couple from South Florida however, had the unfortunate pleasure of being served up an employees blood at a Dunkin donuts in Hollywood.
Magelo and Rodrigo Esquivel were ordering two donuts in the drive through when Magela noticed the employees hand wrapped in a napkin.
“Then, I get a napkin and see a red stain on it and I’m like “What is that? I’m like, ‘That is not jelly’.
“I grabbed the bag because it had the rest of the napkins and I see another red stain on the bag and I’m like, ‘Hold on.’ So we pulled off to the side of the road and I’m like, ‘This is blood. This is not jelly.”
When returning to the store the same employee’s hand was still covered in a napkin, who then offered Magela another doughnut when she confronted him. Bad move pal, with Magela being a trained nurse, she was fully aware of how serious the consequences would be if she or her husband had ingested his blood, and another doughnut is in no way gonna make the situation better.
The couple need to be tested two more times in a year until they are fully cleared of any illnesses or ailments. To make matters worse Dunkin also offered Magela a $25 gift card that she declined (because that’s worthy compensation somehow).
The Esquivel’s have hired a lawyer to represent them in a possible lawsuit now. Here’s hoping their future doughnut experiences aren’t as traumatic as this one…
