Set more than a decade after the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water sees the return of Jake Sully (played by Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (played Zoe Saldana), who must navigate dangers across the oceans and rainforests of Pandora while raising their Na’vi family.
The film also sees the return of Sigourney Weaver, along with a cast which features the likes of Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco and Jemaine Clement.

The world has long been awaiting the sequel after Avatar became one of the most successful films ever made, raking in $2.8 billion worldwide and scoring three Academy Awards, following its release in 2009. According to director James Cameron, planning for the sequel started in 2012 but it wasn’t until 2017 that filming began.
Cameron recently revealed that, because so much of the film is set underwater, they needed to wait for technology to catch up. A 900,000-gallon tank was specially built for the sequel and the actors were required to train to hold their breath underwater for long periods, with Kate Winslet racking up an insane seven and a half minutes without breathing. If the trailer is anything to go by, it seems it will be well worth the wait.
Maybe the boldest image in the Avatar 2 trailer? We rarely see the pregnant body considered or celebrated in movies, and here it's depicted mid-hunt. Cameron cashing in a lifetime of cred to break convention at every turn. pic.twitter.com/wtSTGR0I2C
