The news arrives ahead of Groove Armada’s four-date tour across Australia later this year…

Groove Armada have today (September 21) announced GA25, a box-set comprised of songs from the duo’s decades-long discography. The box-set — which is set for release on November 11 — delves into Groove Armada’s career-spanning back catalogue, cherry picking their most iconic cuts for a 25-track double CD and 2-side LP collection.

GA25 also includes a 32-page booklet and A3 poster, and will feature the Groove Armada tracks ‘Song 4 Mutya’, ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘Superstylin’, among many others from their nine-album catalogue and beyond. The announcement arrives on the 25th anniversary of Groove Armada’s debut single, ‘At The River’, which was released in 1998 and featured on their first album, Northern Star.

Now, over two decades later, Groove Armarda are celebrating their debut single anniversary with ‘Hold A Vibe’, the pair’s latest song released in line with GA25. The track enlists vocals from dancehall artist Red Rat, and sees Groove Armada pair Jamaican funk with a hypnotic bassline. ‘Hold A Vibe’ marks the pair’s first release of a single since 2020’s ‘Lover 4 Now’.

Both ‘Hold A Vibe’ and GA25 arrive ahead of Groove Armada’s four-date tour across Australia, which kicks off with their sold out show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on November 17. Next, they’ll perform at Fortitude Hall in Brisbane, before appearing at the inaugural edition of the Adelaide festival, Harvest Rock. There, they’ll take to the stage alongside fellow lineup entrants Jack White, The Lumineers and Meg Mac, among others.

While Groove Armada’s early-2022 UK tour marked their final live run of shows, the duo is currently at work on a remix series, which will recruit international producers for a reimagined take on some of their songs.
