One hell of an excuse…

A Washington man has been arrested while teaching his Pitbull how to drive. Police were called to the incident after reports of a ’96 Buick after witnesses reported witnessing a ’96 Buick hitting two cars at 100 MPH before driving away from the scene.

Upon locating the car, they found the mans dog in the driver seat, while the criminal mastermind steered and controlled the accelerator from the passenger seat.

Police were finally able to get the car to stop with spike strips, arresting the man who was charged with reckless driving, hit-and-run, felony eluding, and driving under the influence of drugs (somehow we’re not surprised at that last part).

The trooper who took the man into custody reported that he admitted he was trying to teach his dog how to drive, saying “I’ve been a trooper for almost 10 years and I’ve had a lot of excuses when I’ve arrested people or pulled people over, but I’ve never had an excuse that the dog was driving.” I don’t think anyone has ever heard an excuse like that before.

Police reported the dog to be a “very sweet girl” and wasn’t aggressive toward officers at all. She’s been placed in a shelter while the man is in custody.
