A little existential angst for your Thursday morning…

As tensions between nations flare and political leaders trade shots weekly, researchers have released a study on where best to hold up during a nuclear war, and for once, the results are in our favour.

The study found that Australia and several other countries in the Southern Hemisphere would be one of the go-to locations if the world’s leaders rage quitted and starting dropping bombs, specifically as they’d stand a decent chance at avoiding starvation.

Australia, in particular, has enough wheat to tide us over during this tumultuous period, with one of the researchers from the study explaining, “Australia has enough food to be self-sufficient… although while we can produce enough food for our own population, it’s another question of being able to get it to major urban centres”. It’s definitely a comforting sentiment, especially since Aussie farmers have been experiencing record crops in recent years.

Looks like it’ll be worth considering moving out of the big smoke if shit looks like it’s about to hit the fan. Still, it’s not gonna at all be smooth sailing once we’re in the dystopia, rather, quite the opposite, with another ice age highly likely if nuclear war transpired. Still, who wants to go into the abyss while on an empty stomach?
