Real Life Nightmare: Blood Drips From The Ceiling Of Woman’s Bedroom

Not for the faint of stomach.

Picture the worst possible thing that you could wake up to. A home intruder? An empty crypto wallet? An infinite loop of Dave Hughes’ voice… Yes, these things are horrifying but they’re nothing compared to what El Paso, Texas resident Ana Cardenas experienced when she was woken up by blood raining down from her ceiling fan at 4am.

The blood was from the occupant of the floor above her, a man aged between 55 and 70 who had passed away an estimated six days before. After seeping through the ceiling, it was spattered around the room onto Cardenas’ hair, clothes and walls by the fan, the kind of thing you’d expect to read about in a Stephen King novel or see in a B-grade horror film.

“It grossed me out, I was in shock, I thought this isn’t real this is a dream, wake up,” Cardenas said. “I called maintenance and they said ‘are you sure?’ and I said ‘blood is falling on me.’”

Firefighters were called and removed the fan which caused a pool of blood to pour down into the room, and worse yet, the building management company are refusing to compensate her. I mean, after experiencing a real-life Shining moment, you’d think that they’d at least comp her a hotel stay or pay for a deep (deep, deep, deep) clean of the place? Maybe she forgot to tick the “neighbour’s blood rains from ceiling” box on her home insurance form… “I told them my bed is covered in blood and they told me they’re sorry but the insurance won’t pay it,” she says.

Anyway, sorry in advance for giving every person who lives in an apartment that reads this a sleepless night.
