Netflix first announced last year that they were making an anime series based on the beloved graphic novel series (and later film), Scott Pilgrim. Now they’ve revealed the original cast members from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will be returning to voice their characters in the anime series, including Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Brie Larson and more.
The untitled Scott Pilgrim show will be animated by the Japanese animation studio Science SARU (The Heike Story, Devilman Crybaby, Inu-Oh). Scott Pilgrim vs. The World director Edgar Wright will be returning as executive director, with Scott Pilgrim author Bryan Lee O’Malley and artist Bendavid Grabinski as executive producers, writers and showrunners.

Scott Pilgrim follows the story of the eponymous 22-year-old slacker bass player who falls in love with delivery girl Ramona Flowers, but must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her, all the while trying to win a competition to get a record deal with his unsuccessful indie garage band Sex Bob-Omb.
“One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim,” director Edgar Wright said in a statement. “Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer Ben David Grabinski have conjured up an anime series of ‘Scott Pilgrim’ that doesn’t just expand the universe, but also…well, just watch it.”
“I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.”
