Firing up barbies across the country, Bunnings Warehouse is set to host a nation-wide sausage sizzle in support of Australian flood victims. Taking place this Friday (March 11), every Bunnings store outside directly flood-affected areas will turn on the gas, with all proceeds going towards those communities hardest hit by the natural disaster.
Bunnings joins other retail giants Coles and Woolworths in donating to the GIVIT Storms and Flooding Appeal, which will work alongside Queensland and New South Wales governments in directing funds. In an Australian-first, the hardware chain will now accept non-cash payments, further easing everyone’s access to the iconic national cuisine.

Speaking to 9 News, Bunnings managing director Mr Schneider said the initiative will help flood victims during the recovery period. “We know there is a long road ahead, and Bunnings … will continue to work alongside impacted communities to offer support and assistance with the rebuilding process,” he said.
So, roll up your sleeves, pop on your napkin bibs and head down to your local Bunnings this Friday. Affected communities (and your stomachs) will thank you for it.
