This year, Vans is hitting a half century and has plenty of grand celebrations planned for the milestone. Yesterday, Vans announced that the first world championship of park terrain skateboarding would be taking place in Sweden, and now they’re also throwing a couple of birthday parties – 10 to be exact.

Yes, that’s right: Vans will be throwing 10 parties across the world for the 50th anniversary! An expansion of their ‘House of Vans’ concept, gigs will be held from March 16-19, everywhere from Kuala Lumpur to London to Sao Paolo. Artists confirmed to appear include Erykah Badu, Domo Genesis & Shlohmo, while Nas will be performing in his hometown of New York City. Elsewhere, fresh from their Australian visit, the Wu-Tang Clan will be playing alongside Jamie XX in Mexico City! Fuck, we want to be there.

On top of the music, there will be DIY workshops, photography and art exhibits, as well as skate and BMX demos. There’ll also be opportunities to personalise your Vans sneakers, so flex a little artistic flair on your feet.
