Scary stuff…

With protests continuing to take place across America, it’s definitely made for some scary scenes. There’ve been numerous clashes with police and violent altercations, and the most recent scene is definitely up there with the most confronting. A video is now circulating the internet following a couple in St. Louis, Missouri (identified as Mark and Patricia McCloskey) pointing their guns at Black Lives Matter protesters outside their mansion.

The stand-off happened as a large group of protesters marched toward St. Louis mayor Lyda Krewson’s house, who is facing major backlash for publicly broadcasting the names and addresses of people who are advocating for the defunding of the St. Louis police department. The protesters as a result walked through one of the city’s most exclusive neighbourhoods to get there, taking them past the couple’s house.

The video shows protesters banging drums along with chants of “Let’s go” and “Keep moving”, with Mr. McCloskey yelling “You’re not on the property”. The video shows the couple waving an assault rifle and handgun in the air as they argue with protesters, with tensions definitely coming to a head.

It’s unclear whether the protesters actually walked onto the property at any point, with the above video showing protesters just walking by while other footage shows another group significantly closer to the house.

Regardless, it’s a scary sight, and definitely a sad one. Fingers crossed we don’t see confrontations of this nature happen again any time soon…
