As if current number one’s Australian arrival wasn’t chaotic enough…

Adding to what has already been an absolute clusterfuck of a news story, tennis star and potential deportee Novak Djokovic has had his court appearance delayed after an accidental broadcast of porn.

Djokovic, who has been detained in a Melbourne hotel since his unsuccessful bid to enter Australia last Wednesday, was set to defend his unvaccinated status and medical exemption via a virtual court hearing this morning, but the appearance was pushed back by 45 minutes when the livestream was hijacked.

Shared by the court for the general public and the Serbian press, the Microsoft Teams link was interrupted by a series of pornographic images and techno music, leaving the broadcast’s 200 viewers perplexed (and possibly horny). Speaking of the incident, journalist Zac Crellin said that the X-rated interruption was just one of many delays during the hearing.

“The broadcast has already begun…guests are intermittently blasting folk music & meme sounds,” Zac Tweeted this morning.

After closing the pornographic link, the court’s digital practice manager activated a new livestream, which was subsequently overrun by foreign press and unruly virtual attendees, one of whom was reprimanded by the judge after shouting “We’re in!” upon entering the broadcast.

Despite the distractions, Djokovic’s bid to compete in his January 17th match continues, with the judge noting that the number one player had fulfilled all requirements prior to his arrival last week. In any case, the porn-laden court appearance is a cherry on top of what’s been a chaotic (yet entertaining) visa debacle.
