Even though it’s stinkin’ hot in Australia right now, it’s winter somewhere in the world – which is great news for ~xtreme~ sports lovers in Colorado. The annual Burton US Open is about to hit the slopes in Vail Mountain Resort, bringing some snowboard lords for a week of heated competition.

Kicking off on February 29, the world’s longest running snowboarding event will be returning with a plethora of slopestyle and halfpipe events, featuring the likes of Shaun White, Chloe Kim, Spencer O’Brien and Matt Ladley. With a prize purse of $343,000 up for the taking, there’s plenty of reasons for these board-riders to perform – and if you happen to be lurking around Colorado for whatever reason, then drop on by and have a geez because it’ll cost you a grand total of zero dollars to watch all the action.
