A collaboration between two of skating’s most enduring entities.

On one hand, you have Vans, the original skate shoe company who’ve been slinging kicks since before you were born. On the other hand, you have Tony Alva, member of the legendary Zephyr team, a skateboarding pioneer, and to this day a master of style on the board. Naturally, any kind of joint effort between the two Californians is going to tap into skateboarding’s rich history, while also looking to the fxuture.

“I’ve watched Vans come from a little small mom-and-pop business to where it’s $3 Billion a year super successful, and it’s because we stayed true to the game. We’re open to promoting ourselves through things that kids are passionate about: music, art, fashion — but like real fashion done by the kids for the kids — surfing and skateboarding,” Alva said in an interview with Hypebeast.

Offering three different takes on the Authentic 44 DX including a navy version with floral stitchwork and groovy “Alva” lettering, an airbrush print, and a pink and leopard print, the range is eclectic and colourful. It’s also buoyed by a crew-neck shirt, graphic tee, bucket hat and cargo pants.
