Bit of a random tangent…

MJ vs Lebron. It’s a conversation that seems to have no end, that has no definitive answer. Two GOATs that have helped pushed basketball forward like few others have been able to, yet, it seems they can’t escape constantly being pinned against each other. Now, Philadelphia Sixers legend Allen Iverson has added his two cents to the debate, and it’s definitely not what we expected.

Appearing on rapper Fat Joe’s podcast this week, when Iverson was asked about what music got him hyped up before games, the Virginia-born superstar decided a quick detour and answer his own question, getting off into a wild tangent on MJ vs Lebron.

After talking about some of his go-to musos, Iverson quickly made the sharp left turn, saying “I love what’s the best, man. You dig what I’m saying? I’m not going to fight what’s the best. I’m not going to fight. As much as I love Michael Jordan, like, dawg, man, LeBron James is the one, dawg. He’s the one, man. That mother f***er is the one, man.”

So, it appears that Iverson is backing MJ above all others. But maybe not, as he also went on to say that Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant was “the one” as well, saying “Kevin Durant is the one, man. The one.” I mean, I feel like there can only be one “the one”, because, well, you know, there’s only one. But who cares what I think! It’s Allen Iverson’s world and if he wants there to be one, two, three or 20 “the ones”, then who am I to shoot him down?

But aside from “the one” talk (I feel like Morpheus in The Matrix), Iverson talked with Joe about everything from his Tyronn Lue step-over and his current favourite players. Check the MJ/ Lebron moment here and the rest of the episode below.
