They had an extreme reason…

A bunch of thieves are on the run on the Gold Coast after holding an ambo at knife-point, while raiding their ambulance for drugs on Sunday. The crims struck while the lone ambo was pulled over and getting medical supplies ready. It’s reported that one man appeared with a knife while the other jumped into the ambulance and searched it, the pair claiming that their daughter was struggling to breathe and that they needed drugs ASAP.

The thieves ended up copping a bunch of drugs, quickly fleeing the scene and leaving the ambo mostly unharmed, minus the few abrasions to his neck.

Speaking on the incident, United Workers Union Bret Fournier has stated that it’s common for paramedics to suffer violence on shift, but cases like these can leave mental issues that last for years.

“For someone to actually have it happen to themselves in a place where there is no one around it’s quite scary.”

Pretty bloody awful, fingers crossed the ambo involved makes a quick recovery from the whole ordeal.
