The CIA’s kill list is growing by the minute…

It’s literally impossible to find a brand or big company that doesn’t have a social media team in 2021. It’s the grind brands have gotta take now, indulging in pop culture and appealing to individuals on the internet to prove that beyond the moneymaking or work part of their business, they’re actually human beings. One such company that tried that recently was none other than the CIA, although, it didn’t exactly go according to plan.

First posting a playful Twitter post with the caption “Can you decipher this code?” the Central Intelligence Agency revealed it to be none other than a Valentines Day ‘Roses are red’ poem, with a follow up post reading “Roses are red, violets are blue, happy Valentine’s Day, from the CIA to you!”

However, a lot of people didnt take too kindly to the poem, with the CIA being accused of, ahem, every human rights violation and shitty thing under the sun. Thus, Twitter went off, and it was absolutely glorious, with one person writing “The CIA just wished me a happy Valentine’s Day and I’m pretty sure that means I’m about to be kidnapped” while another wrote “We live in hell.”

However, the most common response was to post a “Roses are red poem” in response specifically outlining all the shitty stuff the CIA has done over the years. Even CNN broadcaster Jake Tapper got in on it, writing “Roses are red, Habits are hard to break, The world is still being punished, From your coup of Mo Mosaddegh” while another hilariously replied “Roses are red, State violence is blue, If you’ve got oil, The CIA will overthrow you.”

Pretty ingenious, check out the full list of tweets trolling one of the biggest US entities below.
