Tyson is the latest in a swathe of celebrities to announce their digital assets.

Boxing legend and active crypto junkie Mike Tyson has declared he’s “all in” Solana, asking his 5.7 million Twitter followers how high the price of his newly-acquired coin will go. The former heavyweight champion took to social media to announce his purchase of Solana (the seventh-largest cryptocurrency by market cap) last week, accompanying the post with an NFT from the Catalina Whale Mixer collection.

The purchase comes after an earlier tweet from September, when Tyson asked fans whether he should invest in Ethereum or Solana, and marks the boxing champion’s latest venture into the crypto space. His OpenSea wallet has over 400 NFTs and in August, Tyson launched his very own NFT collection on Opensea, described as “a limited-edition series of NFTs that celebrates the iconic life and legacy of the Baddest Man on the Planet.”

While some Twitter users were quick to compare Tyson’s promotion of Solana to that of Kim Kardashian’s ‘pump-and-dump’ scheme, his investment in the coin appears to be well-placed. Last week, Bank of America published a report asserting that Solana could take market share from Ethereum, a prediction that’ll have my own digital wallet dwindling.
