If you follow Bored Ape Yacht Club on Instagram or Twitter, you may have noticed the below post this morning. Featuring a futuristic-looking ape, wearing a jacket that features a sideways adidas logo along with the logos of Gmoney (an anonymous NFT spruiker) and Punks Comic (a huge NFT project by Pixel Vault that you should know about), each of which also teased similar imagery.
But what does it all mean? Well, we know adidas recently posted POAP, or proof of attendance protocol, on its adidas Confirmed app, tweeted Tuesday about developing a so-called “adiVerse” in partnership with The Sandbox, which caused a massive spike in SAND a few days ago. “This digital collectible is our way of rewarding you for following your curiosity as we explore this new age of originality together,” said adidas in a statement. “This token proves you were here from the beginning of this journey. Keep it safe — it may come in handy.”

In terms of collabs within the NFT space, you probably can’t get any bigger than BAYC, or any cooler that PUNKS, proving that adidas is taking the Metaverse and the unlimited possibilities of the digital/virtual world seriously. What will the fruits of the collaboration be? Well, we’ll all just have to stay tuned for that…///
