Aussies Flume, Hayden James, Dom Dolla, Amyl & The Sniffers and more will be playing the Los Angeles festival this year…

The lead up to this year’s Coachella festival has been considerably more high-profile compared to previous years, the popular Los Angeles festival plagued by COVID restrictions, beef between artists and most recently, headliner Kanye West dropping out just yesterday morning.

No doubt the festival is scrambling to find a suitable artist to replace him less than two weeks out, but through it all they’ve managed to make the news for a positive reason this morning, with the festival announcing that they will be giving free NFTs to all pass holders.

Designed by Aussie artist Johnathan Zawada, the 2022 “In Bloom NFT” is a digital seed that will bloom into one of seven multi-coloured desert flowers each Friday morning of the two festival weekends. Of course, it does a whole lot more than just look cool however, with each artwork allowing punters to redeem them for dedicated entry-line access, food & beverage vouchers and merch. To top it off, a select few of the NFTs will offer VIP passes, passes to Coachella 2023, tickets to other Goldenvoice concerts and other exclusive perks.

No doubt we’ll be seeing more festivals follow suit with the digital artworks. Check it out above, along with the full lineup (minus Kanye West of course) for 2022 below.
