Truly outdoing themselves in the realm of store locations, Apple has announced their latest Singapore branch, and it’s the first of its kind. The new store is located at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, serving as the company’s first flagship branch built on water. Teasing the new addition on their website, Apple wrote “Apple Marina Bay Sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions. It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new.”

The dome-shaped store is actually replacing actually replacing what was once a Crystal Pavilion, which served as a night club named ‘Avalon’. The structure has been revamped from its glass-island style design to a circular dome with glass panels, which reflect the Singapore skyline by day and glows like a lantern by night. The new store will also be connected to a promenade which runs along the Marina Bay Sands waterfront, as well as an underwater tunnel which Apple will be free to use.

The store is set to be Apple’s third Singapore branch, following the first at Knightsbridge Mall and the second at Jewel Changi Airport. It’s reportedly the work of Foster and Partners, the British architectural design and engineering firm responsible for numerous Apple locations. The store is set to open this week.
