FKA Twigs has disclosed her recent battles with fibroid type tumours in a revealing Instagram post.

The ‘Two Weeks’ singer thoroughly discussed her ordeal, describing the toll it took on body and sense of self:

“I tried to be brave but it was excruciating at times and to be honest I started to doubt if my body would ever feel the same again…despite lots of love from friends and family I felt really alone and my confidence as a woman was knocked.”

Thankfully after a successful surgery, the avant-garde RnB singer made a full recovery. Posting a empowering video of her poll dancing accompanied by the confessional message to her fans.

Fibroids are a type of muscle tumours that grow on the uterus, causing discomfort and pain.  Often they are benign but in rare cases can be cancerous.
