Troll of the century…

Cofounder of the worlds worst “festival” Billy McFarland is demanding to be granted an early release from prison due to COVID-19, and tbh he’s got a pretty solid argument for it.

The Elkton federal prison in Ohio, where McFarland is serving his sentence, has been described as a “breeding ground for the virus”, with 36 inmates and 26 staff members already testing positive for the virus, with four prisoners already dying.

Look, we get why he’s scared, we would be too. And to make matters worse for the poor bugger he’s got numerous pre-existing health conditions including asthma, allergies and “heart issues since his early 20s”.

McFarland’s lawyers sent a letter to the judge requesting a “compassionate release”, using the COVID-19 outbreak at his prison as well as the fact that he’s a nonviolent offender to his advantage. The team also cite rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine as a reason why he should be released, as 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to weapons possession, armed robbery and drug illicit drugs, but was released to home confinement due to COVID-19 concerns and his asthma.

As much of a crime as Fyre Fest was, it’s probably nowhere near as bad as Tekashi’s rap sheet, so fair enough. Lets hope that if he’s released, the judge makes a clause that forbids him from ever trying to organise a festival again…
