Happy RnB Valentine’s
For the single and the taken.

Generally speaking, Valentine’s Day is total nonsense.

It’s a Hallmark holiday that is marketed to make us feel insecure about our relationship or, alternatively, insecure about our singleness. Instead of Valentine’s Day, we should have a 1990’s/2000’s RnB day. When it comes to things that pain or impassion me, I often resort to this genre of music. No matter what your emotional predicament, RnB has a song to soothe you. Suspect your partner is cheating? Irreplaceable. In love with your high school sweetheart? Dilemma. Want to leave your partner? You Make Me Wanna… Want to flaunt your grillz? Grillz. I could go on all day.

You don’t need a verified holiday to tell your boo you love them, just like you don’t need to be in a relationship to feel loved. However, since it’s already a well known date that’s busting all our feeds open, I’ve put together five love songs and five heartbreak songs to cater to whatever mood you’re feeling this Valentine’s Day. Virtual hugs for everyone.
